Xone PX5 multitrack USB routing

I have a set up using Djay Pro and PX5 with Ableton for FX. I’m sending Djay decks 1 & 2 from the laptop to channels 3/4 and 4/5 via USB audio to the PX5 mixer. I then want to send the pre-fader audio signal back to the laptop and into Ableton so that it can process the audio coming from the decks (for FX etc). I then send the Ableton output back to the PX5 via channel 1&2 which allows me to adjust levels of the FX etc.

I can’t seem to get this to work. Ableton is not receiving any signal on channels 3/4 and 4/5. It’s like PX5 won’t send audio back over channels 3/4 because it’s already receiving audio on those same channels. But I thought audio over USB was bi-directional?

I can get it to work if I use the Send via channel 9/10, but I don’t want that as it’s another knob I have to keep track of when DJing playing live - I have a controller that manipulates the Ableton FX and I just want to deal with that on a per channel basis.

Any thoughts/ideas on trying to get this to work or to confirm it’s not possible gratefully received. Thanks

I figured out a better routing that solved my issue. For anyone interested instead of essentially splitting the DJay audio to Ableton and the PX5 I, instead, sent the Djay audio to Ableton first (using the Blackhole midi audio thing on MacOs) then in Ableton created 2 pass through channels that sent the dry audio to the PX1 on channels 3/4 and 4/5 to mix with as normal and then I added FX and loopers in Ableton, the output of which I sent to the PX5 on channels 1/2 so I could also easily adjust the volume and EQ of the FX. Works nicely and a pretty straightforward solution in the end.
