Hi, I just purchased a CQ12. It hasn’t arrived yet, but I’m wondering if I made the right decision. I currently have an XR12 and wanted to step up in sound quality. Mainly wanted vocals to sound better. I’m worried that I’ve essentially just ordered a mixer with less features(tons of effects anvailable on XR12) and on the same level. Did I actually take a step up?
Hi , i had the x18 air & was used in a live setting only , i upgraded to the cq18t & in my experience so far the cq18t is far superior & easier to use in a live setting .Again in my experience CQ Vocal effects far better & wifi has been more stable than my x18 . Bluetooth built in & bonus & eq easy to navigate . Nothings perfect but so very happy with my cq18t , even though the cq12 has slightly less features i guess the effects & eq layouts will be the same & hopefully you will hear a difference over your xr12 . All the best . C
Thanks for responding. That’s great to hear. So, I’m a singer and acoustic player. That’s about all I use the mixer for. The BT will be great for playing music during breaks. I don’t currently use LA comp and all the other fancy effects on the xair but like having the option to grow with the unit. I haven’t seen anyone say they can even edit the reverbs like pre-delay and decay and EQ like LP and HP. Would love to know if you can get granular with the effects and eq the reverb. I’m hoping that this unit sounds better without the effects that behringer includes.
Sure you will be happy with cq12
I went for the Cq18 but could have easily managed with the cq12 . Really only using 2 effects on my vocals tap delay & small reverb , no complaints from me . Keyboards using a preset & a small amount of tweaking sounds amazing , bass guitar straight in for practises & again easy to eq. Having good quality pa speakers prob helps also . Recording straight to ipad from the desk via Cubasis & worked straight away. Very happy so far .
