Zed 428 - Surround routing

Hi all,

I’ve been trying to configure my A&H Zed 428 for 5.1 surround - for mixing purposes and for video playback purposes - with little luck.

I know the Zed series doesn’t come with a separate audio driver for PC (just using this built-in stereo USB audio codec) and so, it has presented a challenge in routing a complex output scheme like 5.1.

Hardware-wise, there’s plenty of channels and outputs on the mixer so I was hoping there could be some sort of workaround to creating this routing scheme. Software-wise though, I’ve been having a hard time finding something that configures with the Zed’s outputs properly.

Has anybody had any luck finding video or audio software (or an audio driver) that can route a multi-channel output from the Zed series?

Appreciate the help!

As far as I can see, your ZED unfortunately doesn’t support “multi-channel” via USB to a computer, but only a single stereo signal, allowing you to choose from one of five source points.
Furthermore, there’s only the option of sending a stereo signal to the console via USB.
