Hi guys,
This has happened to three of my mixracks.
The service bulletin is how to modify the pcb and add a component but in your cases the DSP will be damaged and require a new motherboard. Basically the 48v and 5v tracks are extremely close to each other, and once dust has settled on this area and the unit is exposed to high humidity levels, moisture on the surface allows the 48v to leak across to the 5v rail over.I was told that this only happens in humid countries, but take a mixrack that’s been in a cold truck all night into a warm venue and see how much condensation appears on its surface. I have the recall bulletin if you still want it though.
Any other critical service bulletins you have? Ill go thru out 8 iDRs and check for this, Id heard of it but never saw the doc and just had our first failure that appears related this week.
