I wonder how many more votes some suggestions would get if we weren’t limited in our number. I have more than one mixer (SQ and CQ), but only got one set of votes, which were split between both suggestion boxes.
That should go in the “green room”, I think.
There was a short discussion about this already.
And I remember another discussion, but can’t find it.
That discussion doesn’t seem to be about the vote limit.
I think we each get 80 votes. If my memory serves me right, I think an A&H rep also said in a random thread that if you max out your votes to contact them and they can increase the number on an individual basis.
I recently hit the 80 vote limit. I simply went back through the list of cast votes and unvoted for a few of them. Most where for suggestions that are no longer valid. Primarily because they have already been implemented, but a few because they don’t fit my workflow anymore. You can see all of the threads you voted on in your forum profile.
80 votes?
I have zero votes remaining and after doing a rough count in my profile, I seem to have only voted maybe 40-45 times.
Edit: Checked again and the total votes I made was 48.
This is strange considering when I go to remove a vote from a random one, I see this:
Seems the limit is now 40 votes?
I believe there are different numbers of votes depending on your user trust level - which you move through by being engaged over a period of time.
Do folk feel like the vote limits aren’t working well? The idea of having a limit was to prevent people just haphazardly voting on anything “just because” but to make it more of a conscious choice to support an idea or not.
Last I looked I was at the highest available user Trust level though (Regular) aside from the likes of yourself. Unless something has changed and I have been demoted?
Edit: Yeah, seems I have lost my Regular badge even though I visit here every day. Guess I am not posting enough or something.
I can’t understand why A&H doesn’t even know exactly how many votes members have in their own forum and whether these depend on the trust level.
Yes, and the number of votes should be easily adjustable in the corresponding plugin settings, if anyone were interested (see image).
Here’s still a link to a previous opinion on the topic:
So, +1 votes also count, and A&H has been working on the voting system for at least 10 months.
