1.6 Update - Now multitrack pause is not working. (No Arm Record in soft key choices.) Should I go back to 1.5? Thanks
Hi dancour5 , unfortunately I see a lot of problems actually coming up after updating 1.6
I would prefer to stick to 1.5 until the storm is passed…
Cheers
Unfortunately, I have to confirm this and even add the following:
It seems to affect both stereo and multitrack recording and both can no longer be “armed” (flashing red) but can only be started.
And neither of them corresponds to the manual (see pictures).
So one can still hope a little that the unmentioned removal of the functionality is not a new “feature”.
EDIT: got a very quick response on the ticket. The removal was on purpose, but it wasn’t documented or listed in the release notes. Official response is this:
“We’ve removed the necessity to arm recordings and so the button was no longer required. This is to prevent potential issues caused by repatching recording channels after pressing arm, as SQ now names the files after the channel names. So - the removal is on purpose - recordings now start immediately on pressing record.”

Same issue here with an SQ7. The soft key we had mapped to arm the record now starts, and the arm and pause feature isn’t functional. I’m going to submit a ticket for the issue.
Oh, so in the future, we should submit tickets and post their responses here?
In my opinion, a better solution would have been to simply disallow repatching recording channels in the armed mode.
Dude, just trying to be helpful and have the definitive and official answer readily available for anyone who came to this thread with the same issue. Chill a little.
In general, we would always advise that people log tickets when they’re struggling as it means it’ll definitely be answered by a member of A&H’s Support team.
We do regularly check in on the forum and try to reply but we can’t guarantee that we’ll see or have time to respond to everything. Support tickets are the best way to get a definitive answer - so it was helpful that Tkolker fed back on our response.
As for the Rec/arm functionality - as was shared, this is a deliberate change and a documentation issue I’m afraid. Sorry about that - we’ll get it updated in due course.
Oh, I’m so sorry.
The criticism wasn’t directed at you, of course, and reading this now, I realize I should have made it much clearer!
Thank you, of course, for quickly forwarding the information you received!
Sorry again for the misunderstanding!
Up until now, it’s always worked quite well here via the forum—or at least I just thought it did.
Someone discovered a bug, and it was usually either confirmed or couldn’t be reproduced.
A discussion like this would be much more useful for A&H than getting a ticket for every suspicion that might just be a user error.
And especially in the early stages after the release of a new feature firmware, I would have expected you to be glued to this forum to get exactly this kind of information.
Instead, you say, okay, we’ll take a look, but we can’t guarantee that we’ll see error messages or even have time to respond.
So you’d rather answer 50 tickets with the same bug than inform everyone here in the forum all at once that a problem has been registered and is being worked on.
Which is likely to take more time?
By the way: Have you already received tickets about the strange DCA assignment error that was reported 5 days ago and has since been discussed in quite some detail, or do we still need to submit them?
Thanks for your understanding!
If I feel something remained unnoticed, I will contact the support with an own ticket.
Or contact the person with the problem with direct messages.
And still, you can mention the forum discussion inside the ticket.
The feedback from dealers and distributors will need much attention too. And there are some other platforms where feedback appears.
If one of my customers or other places where I work with A&H consoles have a serious problem, I will check this with my distributor first. The product specialists normally know the bugs or difficulties very well.
The new forum enables much more possibilities for the future. And nothing is forever!
Yes, thank you, I’ll probably do that now too and send links to forum posts.
