Please consider adding the following functionality:
Currently on LED On/Off State chan be changed via MIDI. LED Colour has to be selected via XONE K3 Controller editor.
Adding the Possibility to change LED Colour via MIDI command would make the device way better and more versatile. Custom Feedback depending on software state would be possible and is in my view a necessity for useful implementation of the Controller.

I completely agree with this message. If there were a way to select the LED colour via MIDI (0-127), this controller would be infinitely more powerful.

You can do that by disabling Latching Layer.
@Mididreams - well this is not true - in your suggested solution (when I understand your Idea right) you can choose between 3 different colours per button per local map - this is by far not as flexible as my suggested implementation of colour selection via midi. Please correct me if I’m wrong

No, I’m saying that you can disable the latching layer function and then control the LEDs with MIDI.
Check this out, here I’m controlling all the LEDs via MIDI. You can see it clearly from around the 3-minute mark. In the video it’s a K2, but I use the same MIDI patch with the K3, it works exactly the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mtp8G1Iyg0Q&t=1s
Thank you for your input - I watched your video.
when I’m not mistaken Xone K2 had only three colours: green, yellow and red - right ?
Just like the three layers available.
So Control via Midi in my sense of understanding would mean being at least able to choose (via MIDI) from any of the 16 available colours In Xone K3 editor - better even full RGB or HSB colour space integration. - so please clarify: via midi you are currently able to make the same button turn for example: blue, yellow, orange, red, green then purple and so on ?
Best Regards
That’s right, you can control 4 LED states with MIDI. LED off, red, yellow, green. When the latching function is deactivated, the nice thing is that you can assign 3 functions to each button without switching the entire layer.
well in that case you missed the point of my suggestion - what I meant Is addressable LED colour via a midi message.

You can control LEDs with MIDI, but not 16 colors, only 3.
So you completely missed my point - You may carefully read my original post again.
I suggested LED colour control as an addressable MIDI parameter - currently three different layers can be addressed (hence indirectly addressing 3 preselected colours (via XONE controller editor) that is not what I want - the only LED parameter Available currently is On/Off / Brightness (0-127)
I suggested adding another parameter for Colour (Hue) from HSB colour space.
Thereby enabling us to integrate the controller into more complex mappings.
Let me elaborate:
I want for example one button on a layer (a software/ mapping layer not a K3 integrated layer)
to show green when track playing and amber when track stopped.
In for example remix deck layer or drum rack layer I want the buttons colour to indicate selected clip colour. therefore way more colours than 3 are needed. (like for example Traktor Kontrol F1, MASCHINE or Ableton Push.
Your original post can be interpreted in different ways, but I got your point now. I was more concerned that people are aware that they can control the LEDs with MIDI, but as already mentioned, only three colors. That helps a lot, even if you can’t display everything with it. Good luck!

Yep, it would be nice to have two modes on K3. One with the old K2 support and another modern one with a full midi support. Where every color from 16 could be possible to change directly via midi data bytes
In this case you could have different colors for different states of settings in Traktor or any other application. For example - every selected loop size could have different color. 1 bar - darker green, 2 bars - light green, 4 bars - orange and so on. On the Novation launchapad MK3 I can use these different colors depend on selected status.
